Last year, Deliveroo donated one million meals to those in need, with the help of its amazing customers and partners.
This year, and with 1.3 million parents saying that they are very likely to need to use a food bank in the next three months, it’s more important than ever that we help get food to those facing hardship.
So we’re partnering with the Trussell Trust, who support a network of 1,300 food bank centres across the UK, to help provide two million meals and vital support to hundreds of thousands of people who are facing hunger.
We have made it easy for customers to contribute so when placing an order you can make a donation in-app.
The donations will help support the provision of emergency food parcels that contain at least three days’ worth of emergency food for individuals and families, as well as providing practical support to those facing hardship.
As the cost of living continues to increase, our research shows that 1.3 million parents in the UK say they are very likely to need to use a food bank in the next three months. Food poverty is consistently found to be one of the most important social issues for Deliveroo’s customers. So we want to use our unique network of customers, restaurants, grocery partners and riders for good.
As well as making it easy for our customers to donate, we will be working with our grocery partners to help facilitate donations of food, as well as committing to donating surplus food from our Deliveroo Hop sites to local Trussell Trust food banks. We’re also creating a UK-wide programme for our employees to volunteer with the Trussell Trust.
We hope that this partnership, which marks the next phase of the Full Life campaign, can play a small role in helping those in need – and supporting the Trussell Trust on their important mission to end the need for food banks.
